Switzerland was the longest series in English with twenty-eight editions (1863 -1938)

The Swiss Alpine Club was founded in 1863 and this marked the "Golden Age of Mountaineering" and even Baedeker started to publish mountaineering titles, for example "The Dolderhorn and Weisse Frau" by Abraham Roth and Evon Fellenberg. (advertised on endpapers).
